Christmas 2011-Baby news

First of all sorry for keeping all of you on your toes!! I know I haven't post anything since last week but I'm here and have to share our wonderful Christmas with you and news about the babies!!

We had a very laid back Christmas this year because I cant do anything. We enjoyed our time together knowing this would be our last Christmas as just the two of us. I am so ready to be a family of four! Jocelynn and JP both got a TON of presents and they aren't even here yet!! That's how wonderful our families are!

We started out the night at my mother-in-laws and played with our niece and nephew!!

Christmas Morning we went over to my father-in-laws house! I love this picture of him with his grandchildren!

Next year he will have his hands full with 3 one year olds!!! HAHA!

Joey and Lucas

Joey and Rhonda got me a computer!! I couldn't believe it! They are too sweet! I was so excited because .... Y'ALL I have been blogging from my IPhone since January!! (That's why all my pictures look awful hah) 

I got this shirt for Joey. I just thought he had to have it! He loves being a pawpaw and how much cooler can a "pawpaw" shirt get than a camouflage one??

** I tried posting this the other night but photos were acting stubborn!! But just so you know... our babies are here and perfect!! Jocelynn Caye weighed 5 lbs 15 oz and JP weighed 6 lbs and 12 oz! I will show pictures soon and tell the story but here's one to get your hopes up....

36 weeks= 9 months!!

That's correct!! I'm 9 months pregnant!! What the?? I'm so happy I've made it this far and so blessed the lord has been watching over me and the babies during this pregnancy! Great news!! I went to the doctor on Wednesday and guess what we decided?? Friday (in 6 days) the 30th we are going to do the cesarean! I can't wait:) I'm so ready to meet these babies! My blood pressure was a little high, so I have to keep track of it until Wednesday. Hopefully it will be fine until Friday! Babies development this week: Your baby is still packing on the pounds – at the rate of about an ounce a day. He or she now weighs almost 6 pounds (like a crenshaw melon) and is more than 18 1/2 inches long. Your baby is shedding most of the downy hair that covered his or her body, as well as the vernix caseosa – a waxy substance that protects the skin during its nine-month bath in amniotic fluid. Your baby swallows these substances, along with other secretions, and they form a tar-like black substance called meconium which your baby passes in his or her first bowel movements. At the end of this week, your baby will be considered full term. (Full term is 37 to 42 weeks; babies born before 37 weeks are preterm and those born after 42 are post term.) Most likely he or she is in a head-down position. But if not, your practitioner may suggest scheduling an external cephalic version. (This is a fancy way of saying that your caregiver will try to coax your baby into a head-down position by manipulating him or her from the outside of your belly.) All I gotta say is... Santa ain't got nothing on this belly!!

35 weeks:-)!!

WOW! I can't believe it... Still! You would think that by now it has hit me, but nope not.one.bit! I'm the calmest I've ever been and not stressed one bit. Weird? I think so! I'm just so ready for them to be here by now, that I feel everything will come together when it needs to. I have an appointment on Wednesday and we are going to talk dates for the c/s:-)!! I've been debating on a caesarean or delivery ever since we found out we were having twins, but with twins you could end up having to get both and that scares me!! Also, baby b (JP) is on top and he is a LOT
bigger than she is, so that's what decided it for us too.

Babies development this week:
Your baby doesn't have much room to maneuver now. He or she is over 18 inches long and tips the scales at 5 1/4 pounds (pick up a honeydew melon)! Because he or she is so snug in your womb, your baby isn't likely to be doing dramatic somersaults anymore, but the number of movements you feel should remain about the same.

Your baby's kidneys are fully developed now, and his or her liver can process some waste products. Basic physical development is now mostly complete – your baby's main job over the next few weeks is to put on weight.

It's crazy to think that there are 2 full sized babies in me right now!! I think because I've wanted this for so long that my head won't allow me to think that this is all real. I KNOW it is but it's not "surreal" yet, but I can't wait until it becomes surreal:-)

Gross! Haha. My husband and I are both amazed every time I take my socks off! This doesn't even compare to some nights!!

This and That

Last weekend we met my parents at Olive Garden to have our Christmas dinner. We did it early this year because we weren't sure if the babies would be here or if i could even walk by then. (FYI: getting pretty hard to walk hah)! My sister and her husband joined us, along with their son Charlie! I was so excited to see them because I rarely ever do and seeing my nephew made my night;) Just look at how precious he is....

 Those eyes are just so beautiful!!

My husband took our baby girl, Roxanne, duck hunting today. I tried getting a good picture but Roxanne was so mad after Matt put the camouflage vest on her, she didn't even move! And yes, We have a ton of baby stuff in the background haha...Just getting ready;)

 And the newest addition to our family... Mr. Joseph Parker Vanzant. We love being aunts and uncles to these precious babies we keep getting blessed with! Hes ready for his cousins to get here so he can play with them!! Aunt GiGi and Uncle Matt love your Parker, Charlie, and Gracie!!

Nursery

 I think it is about time I show ya'll the nursery, right>? I did their nursery in the Monkey theme!! I love monkey's and plan on calling the twinkies my little monkeys;) I had so much fun doing their nursery and planning for it... Now that I'm done with it, we are just waiting on them to come and live in it! 

Their closet! This isn't a huge or even big room so i had to work with the room I have. I went to wal-mart and purchased a TON of plastic organizing bins. One for her (pink) and one for him. 

 My friend and I painted this tree and monkeys! We used her projector then traced it and WALLAH! I did add a bow onto the girl monkey!

 Yes, the cribs are two different colors thanks to my pregnancy brain but we decided to leave them as is because we like it!

The changing station! I have a pink basket and blue basket. Her stuff being in the pink one and his in blue. I did this because i thought they could end up wearing two different diaper sizes or one be allergic to a certain type or anything so i thought them having their own "changing basket" would help!

And of course...BOWS!! Im ready for them to be here but so happy they've continued to "cook" this long! Im 34 weeks and 4 days today;) Doc appointment tomorrow!!

34 weeks!!

Wow!! I can't believe I am 34 weeks!! I mean seriously? I feel awesome because everyone said I was too petite to carry twins but I'm much taller than some people I know who have carried twins! Everything is still going well:-)
Went to the doctor on Wednesday (no exam or ultra sound) but blood pressure is good and the babies did great on their NST! This coming up Wednesday we are going to "check" for progress and see how big the babies are and the position they are in!! I can't wait to see them.. I always miss them! I've had a feeling lately that it is going to be sooner than later (I hope not) but just in case I have the babies bag packed and ours too! BTW: the hospital I go to just had a grand opening of their new women's center and OMG! It looks like a spa instead of a hospital and I am so excited!!

Babies development:
Your baby now weighs about 4 3/4 pounds (like your average cantaloupe) and is almost 18 inches long. Fat layers – which will help regulate your baby's body temperature after birth – are filling your baby out, making him or her rounder. Your baby's skin is also smoother than ever.

The central nervous system is maturing, and your baby's lungs are continuing to mature as well. If you've been nervous about preterm labor, you'll be happy to know that babies born between 34 and 37 weeks who have no other health problems generally do fine. They may need a short stay in the neonatal nursery and may have a few short-term health issues, but in the long run, they usually do as well as full-term babies.

Maternity Pictures
